Are you there, friends? It's me, Monica.
Long time no talk (MY BAD). I am here to give you a little look into my current mental state (hint: NOT GOOD).
Wow okay SORRY for the delay. Something about Substack makes me so intimidated and every time I sit down to write I get scared because of my, you know, intensive anxiety disorder.
With the potential TikTok ban on the horizon, I am surprised to find myself struggling to get my ducks in a row. Turns out the looming potential of your livelihood going away can really put a damper on your productivity (who knew?).
What I do know is that I created Salt and Sage as a way to connect with people and educate others about diet, nutrition, and the way the wellness industry often backs us into a corner (hello five million products being marketed to us at all times).
Over the years I have found myself getting stumped by the need to consistently create in order to keep the business side of all of this afloat. I (for no good reason) am constantly trying to reinvent the wheel thus leading me into a creative burnout that even the best supplement routine could not pull me out of (that was a joke about the aforementioned wellness industry).
It has become kind of a catch 22 because I know that the most helpful information for majority of people consists of the basics/ building blocks of wellness and nutrition but the stupid f**king algorithm caters to the extremes.
I really started this newsletter with the vision that it would arrive to your pretty little inbox and bring good energy, helpful information, and hilarious vibes. I really do not want it to be something that is overcomplicated for you (or me) and I am starting to think that maybe it should just be my stream of consciousness rather than something that is overly curated.
I want to include my recipes, my recommendations, etc. but I also kind of just want it to be a space where we can talk about, ya know, how it’s going for all of us?
Guys, I don’t know. Did this entire post sound like an insane text message from a distant cousin that you only speak to on a bicentennial basis?
What do we think? What do we want to talk about on here? PLEASE help me because I know it can be something fun and fresh for all of us.
I’ll catch ya in the comments or maybe you can slide into my Instagram DM’s and let me know what you want to hear about from me.
I love you all and I am excited to get Go Sage Yourself up and running again (maybe tell ya friends).
Happy Monday!
